Anti-Records/Universal Republic Records’ musician/activist Michael Franti has been given an early holiday gift - his first platinum single. “Say Hey (I Love You),” from his highest debuting CD All Rebel Rockers, is the feel-good hit of the year, having celebrated multi-format, multi-genre success. It has appeared on numerous Billboard Charts and has gone Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart, Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot AC Chart, Top 5 on Billboard Adult Top 40 Chart and recently #1 on iTunes’ Alternative Chart. Its video recently topped 4-million views on VEVO.

In addition, Franti took time away from the recording of his next CD last month, to appear on the 11th Anniversary CBS Network Special “A Home For The Holidays,” which airs at 8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT on December 23rd. The special shares compelling stories of families touched by foster care adoption, the result of which has been the adoption of nearly 25,000 children.
Franti will continue recording throughout the rest of the year and into 2010, before heading out on the road with John Mayer as his special guest on his “BattleStudies” tour, which gets underway on February 4th in Sunrise Florida at BankAtlantic Center.

THEM CROOKED VULTURES -- a/k/a DAVE GROHL (Foo Fighters, Nirvana), JOSHUA HOMME (Queens of the Stone Age) and JOHN PAUL JONES (Led Zeppelin) -- has confirmed November 17, 2009 as the release date of its eponymous debut album in the United States and Canada on DGC/Interscope Records.
The self-produced 13-song record will feature the debut of the studio versions of the material Them Crooked Vultures unveiled at its August 9 debut at Chicago's Cabaret Metro and played on a first series of shows throughout a handful of UK and European cities and portions of the eastern U.S., wrapping up with an October 15 appearance at New York's Roseland Ballroom. They will play a string of West Coast U.S. dates from November 17th thru November 22nd.
